OIL AND YOU

This may come as a shock to many, but oil is a resource that we will run out of one day. Consider the fact that America uses over 21 million barrels of oil a day!

Consider also the fact that U.S. gasoline consumption of 320,500,000 gallons per day (March 2005) works out to about 3700 gallons per second.

At some point in time the world is going to have to deal with the reality that we will run out of oil!

I point readers to the following stories:

Is the world's oil running out fast?

At the same time, the entire subject of oil becomes a very political topic.
There are those who are opposed to drilling for oil in certain areas of the world, due to possible environmental problems.

If we engage in a military conflict and oil is a possible reason, then people protest the war! They hold up signs for the TV cameras that say, "No War For Oil." Then they get back in their SUVs and drive home! Those who seem to be against the drilling for oil and for wars that may help with the obtaining of oil are the same people who have no problem using oil.
The fact is simple. We need oil! We also need to begin looking for alternative fuels.

Take some time and listen to some reports found at:

A very interesting story was reported 10 January, 2005 by NPR. It suggested that there may be a lot of oil availabe in Califirornia:

At some point, the sun is going to set on our use of oil. The question is, what are we going to do then?
