WORLD EVENTS AND YOU

THE FLAG OF IRAN

FLAG OF NIGERIA

Americans tend not to be that concerned with world events. In fact, they usually don't follow world events outside of a few soundbites they hear on TV. At the same time, Americans are famous for having an opinion and they usually share it loudly inspite of the fact that more often than not, their opinions are based more on feeling than on facts! At this time, there are situations that are currently developing that can affect Americans. They are the developing situations with Iran and Nigeria. Many Americans may seem uninterested, but there is a good chance the next time they stop to put gas in their car, they may realize something is going on. Look carefully at the following stories:

Oil higher, markets on edge over Iran, Nigeria Reuters

Crude Oil Rises on Concern About Nigeria Unrest, Iran Standoff Bloomberg

Oil up on fears over possible supply disruptions in Iran; unrest ... Forbes

Oil market alarmed by Iran over higher prices

Shell quits Nigeria oil stations as violence flares

How much these events affect the gas prices in the United States is yet to be seen.
